Happy New Year + update

Hi All! I thought I would do a post to say thank you and to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. It is also an opportunity to give you an update on what I have been up to since Christmas Eve....
I received a screen printing kit from Mic (among other things) for Christmas, which I made these little cushions with. The little birds are grey on stone linen with a white border. I think they worked out well for my first go at the kit.
While I was in the mood, I made this one too (which is standard size) of an old bus scroll from Sydney...in reverse. I tried it the other way, but liked it in reverse for something a bit different. Both of these can be purchased at my shop by clicking HERE. I would love to know what you think of them.

We had a very laid back Christmas day with water guns and bikes etc and a lovely bar-b-que.
I made this wreath, which I stringed with white lights (that you can''t really see cause I forgot to switch them on for the shot), out of branches of a native we have on our property.
It turned out really well, so I will make one for the front door next year.

Our wrapping was simple this year. We had such a lovely time watching the boys tear into their gifts from Santa...it is moments like these I truly cherish.
Then we had to build all of the toys!!

On Christmas Eve we had a small convoy of 3 horse drawn carts past by while we were painting
...and one of then had Santa and Mrs Claus on throwing lollies in bags to the kids.
Oh yeah, we are still going with the painting. I will have some shots for you soon.
I hope you have a wonderful time tonight and I will see you next year.
That sounds so strange seeing it's tomorrow.

  2. Happy New Year to you Ness!
Love these cushions - you are so talented, not only to think up the ideas but then to turn them into a real product. Love the black and white scroll one in particular.
And your presents are wrapped so beautifully! Love the little tages, the brown paper and the paper overlay - so stylish! Did you have to cut the paper, or did it come in strips like that?

  5. Catherine,
The paper was wrapping paper I got from Woolworths for $3.25 for 10 mts! and I just cut strips of it and wrapped it around my brown paper with a white ribbon and a little tag you find on items in a store (Ithink I got about 300 for $1.50 and just stamped the first letter of everyones name on it, and wrote a to/from on the back.
Thank you for you lovely words about my cushions too!

  7. I love the cushions - if you ever do a Sydney bus scroll of the northern beaches route ... its mine! I have been wanting one of those scrolls but they are out of my range however a cushion or 2 could be just the trick. Love the santa cart !! Mel xxx
