I had to show you some of the new things I found on Etsy recently that I love. I really enjoy of late these very still images that don't have a lot of fuss. The colours are superb...and they are well priced!!
And of course I couldn't help but show you my little acorns I have on my own Etsy Shoppe, Marley & Lockyer. They come in a set of two. I am going to make some up for our tree...they are so sweet. Stop by the shop and have a look...I have added a few more tags and over the weekend I will list my New Years range.

Market love, wishes...and my Shop update

My love of Markets, Garage Sales and Op shops is a recent thing. It has always been there, just didn't want to recognise it til now. My Mum would drag us along to all sorts of moth ball smelling places, where we would think "this is all crap Mum, why are we here"?....
but, Mum would always come away with some piece of furniture, fabric, vase etc, and turn it into a gem something we would all fight over now as homeowners ourselves. So now we all have this zany gene from Mum to 'sniff a bargain' from a mile away. I am working on some now as you know. My $5.00 sideboard is turning out really well and I will show you photos very soon, then there is the two old suitcases I picked up for $3.00 (I haven't done anything to them yet). So I wanted to show you what you can find if you look. Hence the photo above.
This is a market (I think) in Norway or somewhere you could imagine a beauty like this to be found. I haven't posted these two images for the market, but for myself as a reminder that this is what I would like my Shop to look like...whenever that may be. Lots of tables, heights and treasures to make your eyes dart about...to draw you in so you will find a little gem you just have to have.

This is the epitome of what I would like my Shop to be styled like. The whole setting, colours, smells (I bet) and items is just what I have envisioned for ages...I nearly died when i seen these photos - someone had been in my head!!...

...back to reality. This is what my Shop looks like at the moment!!! This is the back wall, and right over the back of the photo is the storeroom door.

This is the front window of the Shop and the door which is yet to be replaced. It is the dumping ground for the adjoining Cafe which is being built (which my Sister may takeover). The Shop has looked like this for a year....when will I ever get it?? Cry with me people.
Just keep the top images in mind!

My Perfect Office...

Would have some sort of fantastic meeting corner with feature
wallpapered wall and Chandelier...
A gorgeous colour scheme, great detailed desk and loads of shelves...

image - Sarah Richardson
Linen and white covered books with Calligraphy writing (which I would do myself)
so I can see what I am looking for...

image - Giannetti Home
Absolutely would have to have the 'Charlie Chair'...thanks Brooke! In white...

Three lights over my work area in either clear glass like this, or milk glass...

Some very dramatic paintings of my favourite decorating elements,
Chandelier and Louis Chair, side by side...

And ultimately, it would be housed in something like this. Except, I would have a bank of French Doors where those front windows are, loads of lavender and European Box Hedges, and daisies around..ahhh, to dream.

Some Kind Of Wonderful...

This glorious home belongs to David & Susan White. He is a baker and she owns antique store Good & White. Their Cape Cod style home is a testament to the fact that you don't need to go overboard and buy expensive things to have a wonderful Christmas. Even their decorations are natural and simple....like the colour scheme of the home. The shell garland around the tree is actually little shells with white lights!
I could imagine this all lit up at night...with Christmas lights and without. Cape Cod houses just have an air of elegance to them without being out of reach. Anyone could own one.

The simple, casual feel of the home starts at the front door. Black door with no fussy hardware, simple lines of the bench and botanical prints, introduce you to the casual scheme throughout.

The living room is a delight and I love the stepped fire hearth. Susan wanted it this way to create a seat up close to the warmth of the fire. All of the elements to this room, any one can do. White slip covered lounges in Cotton Duck (very affordable), garland over the fireplace from the tree outside, an old pine table with the legs cut off for a coffee table (look in junk shops), a pine chest of drawers in the corner (look in one of your bedrooms or your Grans house) and recycled pieces- from the bricks on the fireplace, to the old weather vane used as a sculptural piece, add interest and bring some warmth into this white setting....btw, I love those quilted stockings...he he!

What!! This is the guesthouse??

...this is a guesthouse that I would live in permanently.
Awash with light, natural elements, and lots of light colours. It is only small (where!), but full of space savvy ideas.
The crewel work cushions offer a textural element to the white lounge, along with the sisal rug. And all of the trunks, baskets and smaller accessories provide a stashing place for anything and everything.

The Cottage is located behind Designer Leslie Allen's parents home and accommodates all of their children and grandchildren at various times of the year, from a weekend to a week or more...yep I could live there. (Wonder what the Main house looks like!!)

I love this floor in the screened porch, made from Blue stone. Our own home is built on it, and I can tell you, it will withstand ANYTHING!
Everything here is user friendly and nothing is too precious. Washable covers, sweep clean floors and loads of seating.

The short order Kitchen is so lovely with its Tongue-and-Groove boards and open shelving. Love that light fixture.

Another angle to the Kitchen shows the Dutch door, which is actually the main door. All of the other doors are the windows...French ones!

There are clever storage ideas everywhere. Like this space in the Kitchen, which has been put to good use as a mini office.

The Bathroom is delightful. I love the glass green tiles on the floor, which put a little gentle colour into the bathroom...which also keeps the seaside beach house theme going. Leslie also used little nooks between the stud walls to house storage cupboards which house all the Medicines and toiletries...how clever.

This is the home that has got me set on using these roman wicker shades for the backs of our French doors. I also love how she has added deep trim to the tongue and groove boards. They can now do duty as a casual gallery space, or act as a small shelf.

This is just beautiful, restful and un-fussy. Simple window treatments and loads of white linen. That green on the walls is so fresh and relaxing. Double door wardrobes are in all the rooms as there is no room for drawers.

These little wall mounted bedside table/shelves free up the floor space and keep the room uncluttered. The wall mounted lights are handy as there is no room for a lamp on the little table.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I am going to try and finish off my $5.00 sideboard (depending on how our little one is feeling). Ness xx

Loft Style a la Skona

I seen these photos at Skona Hem, and immediately thought of Emma at White and Wander. The whole warehouse/loft style of living completely floats her boat...I see why. Ceiling heights to amaze, beautiful expanses of wall (perfect for a huge & in red) and these divine whitewashed floors. I am also loving the black fireplace surround, which I think keeps all the white in check.
That's a Bathroom to love. You can get that same sink at Ikea for about $140.00...hhmm!

I think this is a great idea. I could make the back board out of clay...hhmmm!

I don't know if you can make it out (sorry the photo is small) but there is a little hanging bassinet, all done in a creamy white hanging from the ceiling for junior. There was nothing like that when our boys were born..its so lovely.
Well I have loads of ideas from this post, so I will be off. Have a great day,

Some Inspiration

I need some inspiration as we get to crunch time with our plans. I am certain we will have a chandelier over the table in our white Kitchen...not as flash as this one though.
image- via Cote De Texas
This is more the scale of our own. It is black at the moment...it may become white! That table setting is gorgeous.

image- via The Laurel Hedge
Millie at The Hedge done a great post a few days ago on Banquet seating, which got me thinking. I seem to have sort of convinced Mic on the idea to free up some space in our Dining area, which is attached to the Kitchen, that this is a good idea. Except I would like drawers under neath for storage.

I LOVE these cushions and I think they would look great in the renovation...anywhere!

This is beautiful. These are the handles I want on our Kitchen doors with the little knobs to match. I would like to make a feature out of our centre island with some corbels under the overhang....oh, I can't wait.
