White Wonders...

This image above by the delightful Atlanta Bartlett sums up everything I adore.
White (of course), wicker baskets, Hydrangeas in tin bucket, wooden console, propped up mirror, text (and a D for Declan), wooden floors, beaded board and industrial light.

I thought of my own space in our hallway that has some of these elements. I promise I had done this before I seen Atlanta's picture. Which got me thinking about other elements I love and would like to include I our reno/makeover (which seems to never end)...

To find a vintage flour sack cushion like this. A real deal one!

Create a living space that welcomes togetherness, comfort and that kick off your shoes attitude. Not forgetting the 'don't worry if you spill something, there slipcovers' philosophy. I plan to make our slip covers soon.

I don't have stairs, but this space at Brooke Giannetti's house is gorgeous and I love the grey, white and wood, over sized clock face (I'm obsessed) and the whole feel she has created.

Something like this divine set of drawers, which I would paint a chipped duck egg green for my work room.

Me & Mo
Some beautiful pieces of silver, and mercury glass for a little shine.

You know how much I want one of these. This one has the perfect finish and fabric colour.

...and a statement piece for the kitchen like this delicious plate.
I could have carried this on for pages, but I will spare you all the pain of my lust list for another day. Ness xx

  6. What a beautiful blog site! I love your work. Your painted kitchen fireplace is an inspiration. How did you accomplish painting the inside? Did you have a chimney sweep clean the soot or did you do it yourself before painting? I am new to your blog, sorry if you've already explained how you did it. I LOVE the end result!

  13. Oh Ness, all so beautiful! Everything I love. Love Brooke's stairs and her use of grey, wood and white. Love your hallway display. I have that exact armchair for my Bubbles and Bling nights for my business. It goes in the back of my car to every function and sits in the centre of my display. I drape pretties over it and put an ornate framed business logo in the centre of it. I love it to death! A-M xx

  17. My daughter is teaching me about Blogging and I do believe this is the most beautiful, inspiring and well put together one I have ever seen. We have the EXACT same taste and I'll be checking in from time to time. I am very interested in getting an architectural mantel for a headboard if you know of any. Wonderful work - thank you!

  18. Debbie in NJ,
Painting the fireplace was very easy. I used a stone effect paint by Dulux in 'Jodphur' and basically just layed the paint on in layers over the bricks, which were painted black by the previous owners so I had a base for the stone paint. I just gave them a really good sweep with a hand brush first...thats about it.

  26. Thank you, Ness for including my stairway!
That huge clock face was a great flea market find!
It is from the town of Nancy in France. I guess they replaced the face with a new one. This clock face has a wonderful patina and even has bits of pink in it, which works well with my color scheme.
It is always inspiring to visit you. I am actually searching your blog for inspiration for a beach guest house that I am working on!
