Blame The Convicts!

Atlanta Bartlett
So, I thought today I would be able to show you our new French Doors, and Kitchen window...but NO! as usual the wonderful technical (sarcasm here) building prowess of the early convicts who built our home have failed...again! Our poor Builder was all geared up to put some doors in this morning...and hit a bump! Back in the 1800's when they used their thumbs held up in front of their eyes to see if something was straight, just doesn't work! S0 Chris (Builder) had to make up these little glass boxes to fix on the top of the doors as there was all sorts of dramas. This took up the whole day, so now he won't be back until Sunday. I thought, as I promised to show you some doors, I would show you these...

Velvet & Linen
They are Brooke Giannetti's door's and they are divine. Ours will look similar to these, so we can all imagine together. At least I get to paint them while I wait for Sunday...oh Joy!
We did get the Kitchen window fitted...there's something.

  1. It's a rare event when renovating goes without a hitch! At least the end result will be worth it. Can't wait to see! Isn't Brooke's room beautiful? Love the window seat with the sage green cushions.

  2. Thank you, Ness for including my sun room in your post!
I know you are disappointed about your doors, but it sounds like Chris has figured out how to resolve the situation.
I will be patient and wait as long as I have to in order to see your beauties!

  3. Ness, your French doors are going to look absolutely gorgeous - your builder is definitely going about things in the right way & it will be well worth the wait. We had concertina doors installed across the back of our house and had all sorts of difficulty with the installation, but once they were fitted I just loved them and couldn't stop smiling every time I looked at them & the sun flooded into the room. Can't wait to see the finished result in your beautiful home. Lee :)

I can just imagine how silly I will look when they go in...like a little kid on xmas morning!!
Each time I go into the room to look at the frames and the doors, I smile...and that's with them stacked in my office!

  13. You saw my bathroom reno. post Ness - now that's a lesson in patience & faith & trust!! How lovely that Chris is willing to let the building dictate its needs to him, rather than the other way round. He's a gem!
