...loveliness! This old green beauty would be looked on by some as rubbish and old, but the thought of it's past and the patina that comes with age on an old piece like this is divine.
How could you send something like this to the tip?
I hope you all find use for something old today.

Who could think that's rubbish? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh. I love the buffet/hutch lovely color. I love vintage, old, junk whatever you call it style. It's just priceless.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Ness - old & pre-loved furniture is the best! I am still amazed at that beautiful sideboard that you bought for $5 and then lovingly rescued & renovated. Lee :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, a couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to find a garden table and chairs at the rubbish dump (decheterie), I could not believe my luck as in the UK these sell for over 600 pounds.
ReplyDeleteI love antique furniture as there is a sense of mystery to it, each piece has it's own memories and we add to it and then the next owner does the same.

That is gorgeous! I really love the color.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Love the colour - wonder how they created that look? Milk paint perhaps?
ReplyDeleteOh, I do love this piece. I'm particularly fond of this colour.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone would ever pass that by....
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what people send to the tip - if only they knew what beauty there is in some old things if given a little love and care!
ReplyDeleteMy husband would think this would be a good thing for fire wood. To me, I love this, and I'm sure most of us ladies do find the beauty in old things. I'm glad some people feel the way my husbands feels, so we can benefit from what they call junk. YAY! But my husband has to live it. OH well-
ReplyDeleteNothing like something worn & loved...If only our pieces could talk..
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely. I have no idea why someone would consider that trash. Love that image.
ReplyDeleteHi Ness~
ReplyDeleteI love old and worn pieces! So much character is evolved, like a beautifully traveled road!!! Lovely Ness!

Love the piece, the post and the use of "the tip." Living the the US, I've not heard that phrase! I,too, love pieces with a history and a story. Thanks for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green. How I would love to own that beauty! It kills me when I see people sanding and painting things like this just to make them perfectly smooth, white and "shabby chic" It takes away all charm. :(
ReplyDeleteJust so gorgeous. I have always wanted to have a gorgeous piece outside just as this one is to use for potting plants etc. Not that i do much potting, but I'm sure I would suddenly feel inspired if I had a cupboard like this! Thanks for including our pebbles in your last post too!

Catherine. I think it would be milk paint. I will have to ask Mum, she'll know.
