Lovin' Charlotte Casadejus...

If you love vintage monogrammed anything like me, you will love the gorgeous site of Charlotte Casadejus. This is one of those sites where your eyes get bigger with each image that pops up.
The detailing in vintage monogrammed linens just amazes me, and the fact it was all done by hand inspires me.

I adore this one with the little crown. The detail is so crisp. You can get pillow/cushion covers made with this linens...it is tempting, but where would I stop?
This is a favourite piece of my own vintage monogram that I found at The Berry markets in NSW. It was from a old lady that had tables of vintage pieces, plain, patterned, Irish, French, English and Belgian linen. I bought quite a few things from her, but this was the first and the most beautiful. But guess what? Mic tore it up to use as an oil rag!!!!!!! I know, you are all thinking 'I would have choked him', but I honestly think he didn't realise as the linen was quite old...at least he left me the beautiful monogram and the detailed edge...look on the bright side I say.

These little lovelies are some of the vintage bolsters that Charlotte offers, she also does beautiful vintage Wedding gowns and a whole lot more.
I am after some vintage red and white floral material for my own stash....wonder if that old Lady is still at Berry markets?

  1. Such a funny story about Mic using it as a rag. You must have some patience, Ness. Good for you for not choking him. The linen is divine,

  7. It is good to see the love of good linen is still alive and well, even if it is being used to clean an engine.

  11. The sad thing about monogramming is that it is a bit of a dying art. Still its good to know its out there being cared for.....Mic.

  13. Hi, lovely linen! I too tried to look up the site then through a bit of research found out it is meant to be 'charlotte' not 'caroline'.

  14. I love monogrammed linen too I only buy my own familys initials which makes it difficult. I have an old monogramme book so I am going to have a go at my own monograms.

  16. These are so lovely Ness, what a find they were. Boys & their clean-up rags - I picked up one the other day in the Bathroom From Hell & thought, 'This fabric looks familiar'. Oh boy was I right there - they were the cotton slip-covers from my favourite outside chairs. MOTH had rested his moter oil bottle on them when he was cleaning his chainsaw the other day & yes, oops & that was it. I had wondered why the chairs were folded up so carefully without their covers under the verandah! Busted big time!
