Some of the new range...

For my first post for the year (not including yesterdays) I thought I would show you all some of the new 2010 range for my Etsy store which I have been working on during the break. I had a lovely time with our family and just having some time to design and sew and decorate etc, very relaxing...anyway!
The cover above is a lovely old French wine label which I have faded to a very soft grey. I really like this one
Also this year for those of you that have asked I am bringing back my little bird filled pillows. I will be doing some in a larger scale also...they are so cute!
An old Dillon's photographic advertisement which is the most lovely sepia tone and has so many beautiful details to the images. It looks great on the white.
Oh, and the white ruffled cover you see in the background of the photo will be also finally making its way to the store after so many of you asked for it...yay!
The prototype for the Fraser Seed cover range. Now the story behind the Fraser part is that it is a very old family name from my Mums side. I didn't just make it up!
It is an original design by me.I have made these not to come out perfect and sat for ages trying to get them to print this way. Some of my original vintage seed sacks where the inspiration behind the faded, non-perfect print. The top of the cover is a lovely soft nubby burlap linen and the white is a smooth and thick white cotton.
This one comes in a lovely linen shade and the print is a little more perfect. I like the contrast between the 2. The beauty of these covers is you can have then either on their sides (like the prototype) or this way...versatile!

I love these ones!!
I dyed this cotton for 4 days in organic green tea, which gave it a lovely warmth that normal tea doesn't give. Because of the tea there are darker and lighter spots, but not in the hippy tye dye way...it is a very subtle change. It was then hand washed with pure soap flakes (like Grannie used to do on wash day) and line dried in the sun. Then hand screen printed by me. The design is based on an old French grain sack and altered to suit me and my obsession with french grain sacks, typography and all things pale.
Last, but not least is a cover which has been designed by me, printed by me and stitched by me (as they all are), but this one has a vintage cotton lace trim. I will only make a few of these as the trim is limited and was one of those bottom of the box type finds. I tried to find more, but there was none! This one has been made with the green tea cotton and it feels just like an old cotton grain sack. I am so happy with the way this material turned out.
All of these items (except the last one) can be purchased from my Etsy Shoppe HERE.
There are more to come (I told you I had been busy), and as I make them I will show you. Tomorrow I will show you my living room light if we are still here as there is a huge fire burning out of control near our home and we are all on alert from the fire station and emergency crews...
all this and I am half way through painting the kitchen cupboards =0[
So, if you don't hear from me tomorrow, you know why.
In the meantime, I would love to hear what you think.
Ness xx

I love the 1902 one and think it will look fabulous on my newly madeover bedroom chair. I have dropped a huge hint to hubby that perhaps it could be an anniversary gift! Have a lovely day Ness - Tx
