Now there are the obvious things like our boys and my loving Husband, Mic...other than that -
I love our big fireplace in our kitchen and this winter I plan on using it more. Last winter we relied on our reverse cycle heating, but it is not the same. I love changing the displays on the mantel often too and since this photo it has changed a few times. I also love our big clock.
While we are on the subject of bathrooms, look what is under the ugly lino in our bathroom!!! Now this makes me smile. I am still working on finishing, but have been very busy with other projects this week, and I promise to show you images as soon as I have it all sorted.
paddington Perspective I think!
Next up is barns. I love them and you would all know by now how much I want one to put on our property to turn into a store, a permanent store. This one in Bowral NSW is gorgeous, but an old one would be perfect for me.
New friends and inspiration I always get from all of you bloggers and readers. This blog has been a great thing for me and I thank you all for your ever supportive comments and emails. This image above is from Maria over at Dreamy Whites. This is a blog you must look at, you will be amazed...trust me!

...and as always, beautiful home wares and styling.
It never ceases to amaze me what some white fabric and old scrubby wood can do...especially when teamed up with Swedish, French and slightly industrial pieces.
Well that is what makes me smile this week and I thank you all for your awards. I am very lucky to have all of you with me on this trip.
Ness xx

Dear Ness- you are such a darling and have the most gorgeous blog. Even though you may have lost the images of the badges awarded to you, I have no doubt that you still own the love and admiration from not only the beautiful friends that gave you those awards, but also of ALL your readers. It was wonderful to hear of all the things that make you happy - just know that YOU make a lot of people happy out here in blogland. I am sure that those badge images can somehow be replaced :) Wishing you a beautiful weekend - Tina x

Wahoooo Ness, you hit pay dirt under that lino my friend! That's hard wood, you can see the milling lines - hard wood.
ReplyDeleteNo need to sand or seal, they'll stand up to anything amount of water you want to chuck at them for the next 3 years before they start to look unloved.
Hope this new puter is your friend, good luck with that.
And Sammi - you're a doll, welcome to our world :) you landed in good territory here with lovely Ness!

Hi Ness,
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed todays post as always. Am loving the la balloon canvas and also the ferris wheel. My mind is whirling with where I would put these!!! Guess where I ended up this afternoon, yes I darkened the door to The Vintage Rose!!! Needless to say I didn't buy a jug (jugaholic I am, but I did buy a vintage mixing bowl, I just can't help myself). I don't get into the shop as much as I'd like, but maybe that's a good thing!!! Anyway, have a wonderful weekend, see you Monday....and Jules above, that was lovely of you to leave a comment for Sammi, and I whole-heartedly agree, couldn't have picked a better blog to follow than our Ness...Welcome Sammi.
Take Care

Hi Ness,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely list.
I am SO envious of the floorboards that you have found in your bathroom.
They are wonderful. They look as if they are wide ones (my favourite) and full of character.
Can't wait to see them all exposed. Have a lovely weekend. XXXX
Ness I knew there was something good under that lino had a hunch all along. Bet you cannot wait to reveal the final look. Sandy
ReplyDeleteHi Ness how are things. Well your bathroom floor boards are awesome; they remind me of the reclaimed flooring we used in the barn. We gave them a very light sand by hand and then a couple of coats of Watyl decking oil. They came up a treat. Manda
ReplyDeleteI bet you were soooo excited when you saw what was hiding under the lino in the bathroom. I love the balloon on canvas just as much as the one on the cushion. Gorgeous blog Ness. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! I love all of the images you featured.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Aimee

Glad I found you Ness, you are trully an inspiration, I was the same only got into sewing in my late 30's & I love it now especially when you know how your stitching improves over time, to think of some of the disasters in the early years (hee). you found floor boards yahoo looking forward to seeing them all striped & sealed. Elaine :)
ReplyDeleteDear Ness,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for featuring me on your beautiful blog. You are way to sweet. I added your name to my list of blogs on my post today. Thank you for letting me know. You are way too kind. I just love your blog. I am amazed at everything that you do. I wish I could sew. I am from a large family, and out of 5 girls I am the only one who just can't do it. I even learned how to in 4-H and Home Ec. Your sewing is so beautiful.
I bet you are so excited what you found under that linoleum floor. I would be so excited. I can't wait to see what you do with it. I look forward to getting to know you better, you are amazing!

ReplyDeleteHi Ness,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry!! What a bad blog friend I have been. I haven't been over to see you in a while. I'm feeling very distracted this past few weeks. Hopefully you'll know why soon... very busy with work etc. Any way, I wanted to take the time to tell you THANK YOU so much for acknowledging the Happy 101 Award and mentioning my blog. (Happy Dance)You are such a doll and that is exactly why you deserve this award!!!!
Love you, girlfriend!!
Being Valentine's week I figured I'd share some love :)
I see why you are smiling over those amazingly cool floors hiding under that lino! WOW, is that going to be sweet or what? I know it is a lot of work though, but what a reward when you are done. Keep scraping :(
How's your son doing? Hopefully he's stopped blowing bubbles Haha
Have a wonderful day and thanks again for the props!!
XoXo
