Decisions, decisions and HUGE changes!

unknown
Mic and I are having some major things to think about now. Not only am I changing the style of our home, we are changing our home too! We have made the decision to put our house on the market for sale within the next few months and will begin the search for a new home.
from my files
We are still looking for an old home but with the work already done...over renovating. Don't mind having to paint and do small things, but no renovations!
my home ideas
So, as we finish some jobs here at our current home I will be culling a lot of the accessories that you have seen in our home to make way for new pieces for which ever home we buy.

This will include some of my linens that I have long cherished and alot of my French inspired pieces.

Which means I will be having a virtual yard sale here soon!! =0)
I would love to have you all along for the ride as we look for our new home and say goodbye to our cherished house that we thought we would be in forever. I would love to hear your thoughts on all of this as well as the virtual yard sale.

  1. Ness I think if you think it is the right decision then it is the right thing to do. It is always sad to leave a house particularly one you love so much and which has so much personality but I can understand the being over renovation thing and you do need to take things easier. All very exciting I think. xoxo

  21. How exciting, I LOVE the home search, oh the possibilities! We moved a year ago from a home that we had renovated and poured our hearts into but had just outgrown. It was heart breaking and even though I was excited about the new possibilities I cried the entire moving day...our movers thought I was nuts. It was the home where we created our nursery for our son, brought our babies home, our first house. But after a week I said, "good riddens tiny little house, hello big house and new furniture"! The virtual garage sale is a great idea! Good Luck!

    Best wishes,
    Tammy

  22. What an exciting adventure. Especially the part about no more renos! We did the same thing. Bought a house, did the complete reno, thouhgt we'd stay forever, then bought another one. Only difference is..we're renovating this new one too. Now my husband says.. like you.. NO MORE. All renovations WILL already be done in the next house.
I would love to see the yardsale and follow you in this journey.

  29. Now, you know how I feel about sudden change and moving... sometimes circumstnces just get the better of you and things just have to change... go with it and cherish the fact that life is pushing you into change. Change is life and it is exciting. And no, you wouldn't want to come to my sale - it's all French (out, out Fleur De Lis) and we're both doing the coastal thing right!
Be strong. It's all good. Enjoy the culling ... oh that part is really good. A-M xx

  32. How exciting for you Ness! I know it will be hard to leave the home you've poured your heart and soul into for so long, but sometimes starting with a clean slate is just what the doctor ordered. And I can't wait to check out your yard sale - should be a cracker! Good luck with the big move, I know wherever you go you'll make a gorgeous home for you and your family. K xx

  34. Hi Ness,
WOW What news!!! I have read all the comments above and agree with them all. You and Mic know how you both feel and there are some days where honestly, I could bomb this house!!! I have lost count how many times Hubby has threatened to move into a caravan (yeah, with three kids that'd be a blast, somehow me thinks he'd be on his own!!!). Just as long as you don't get carried away and buy a neglected soul. I'm with everyone else and I'll be coming along for the ride too. Hope you're having a great day.
    Take care

  39. Hi! Just recently found your blog. I think its interesting how american and european blogs/styles inspire each other and I feel there is a new globalized style envolving. Something like: french/skandinavien country meets american beach cottage. Really cool. Greetings from Norway!
