Searching, still...

Still on the lookout for a cupboard/armoire for the Miners Cottage. I did however get another old chair, a mirror and an awesome old cutting board today for $15!
I love the old mismatched chairs in this shot and I plan to paint the ones I am getting for the cottage all white so they will fit together around a small dining table which is yet to be found. I have two chairs so far and the search continues.
As for my 'over it' dilemma. I will be taking it all out of the decorations out of the room for a few days and seeing what happens from there. Whatever I don't put back will be sold...and some paint for the sideboard is in order. I thank you all for your comments and emails with this. Glad to know I am not the only one who is feeling this way right now.
Have a great weekend,
Ness xx

  1. Hi Ness, that whole room is gorgeous, I am a recent convert to the idea of odd chairs, but I'm with you, all painted the same colour ties them together but you still get the character! The cupboard in that image is perfect... I would love to stumble across something like that to fix up!

  3. Dear Ness,
Sorry for lack of comments. I've had gremlins in the computer !!
Re your last post. Don't worry. I have been around a lot longer than you and this happens all the time. I think when you have done a lot of decorating, it's good to stop for a little while. You will be back to full strength before you know it !!!!
Enjoy the weekend and, put your feet up ! XXXX

  4. Dear Ness, the mix of different chairs looks beautiful. I have the same in two parts of my house, but white. The one with a long table for sitting with friends and the other is a round table.

The furnitures on the picture are nice, but all together (wall, door, table, chaires, floor, decoration.....) a lot of different colors. After a few time it's to much ;)

Thank you for your mail ;)

  5. I can't wait to see the finished cabin! Love the mismatched chairs. As for yesterday's post when I get in the design dumps I do the same thing. Take everything out for a couple days and start over. GOOD LUCK!

    Best wishes,
    Tammy

  9. The chairs sound great Ness. It seems that the cottage ideas are really coming together. I took everything out of my lounge, dining about 6 mths ago. I still haven't put it back together again.
