Coastal Beauty...

Digging through the inspiration photos is always something I enjoy doing. Deleting things as I go that don't apply at the moment is like having a huge Spring clean out.
While I was looking I found these stunners. This one above was from Steve Giannetti, this man can design!! (thanks A-M for the fix up). I am loving the loving the light fittings and the silver accents in this room. Of course the Hydrangeas fit right in!
I always enjoy visiting Karnas Hus. This blog is full of coastal chic and this room is beautiful.
I especially love the curtain fabric and the cushions on the white sofa. The addition of white Geraniums is perfect for this room. It reminds me of a wonderful Summer beach holiday.

The always beautiful Whiteport, which is full of lovely things has given me loads of inspiration today though. I am loving the stripe cushions and I have recently purchased some gorgeous French General stripe in a similar colourway which I am hoping to turn into covers very soon. Over the last few weeks I have been thinking of using our big wicker trunk as a coffee table for a change (and to stop the boys dive bombing the sofa from the coffee table!) and this image has made my mind up that I am going to give it a try.

I had hoped to show you the finished kitchen island today, but instead we spent the weekend digging up the back yard with a burst water main and chasing up! It is coming, I promise =0)

  1. Great pics, I am liking the blue. I am looking forward to seeing your stripy cushions.

  2. Love these photos. Saved the kitchen one for myself as we hope to redo our kitchen early next year. Good luck stopping the dive bombing, they will still do from the trunk or from sofa to sofa!!

  3. Oh, I love the second pic, Ness! So cosy!!

    Have a happy week!

  4. Such an old basket chest I still have. But I have no idea what I can doing. White? Only letters or numbers? Nothing? No idea ;)

  5. I love big baskets as tables. Do it!!

  6. Hi Ness,
Love the kitchen image above. Does that look like marble on the walls around the window?? I'm not as good as some at identifying materials used in photo's (haha). Ah Ness, the best layed plans can sometimes come unstuck...burst water main and with all the rain we've had I'm surprised you haven't washed away!!! I think you are doing a marvellous job, blogging and enjoying the time with you parents there. Have a wonderful day.
    Take care

  7. I love the kitchen, thanks so much for sharing these beautiful rooms!!!

  8. Isn't that a Steve (Giannetti) kitchen?! I have committed everything he has done to memory as he has a divine talent.... one of my absolute favourite kitchens... ever!.. and Karna?... I stalk that poor girl! Burst pipes... not pleasant.. good luck! A-M xx

  9. Hi Ness, that is a lovely kitchen and the second pic is also gorgeous. I would go for the wicker basket as a coffee table, I think that looks great! Looking forward to your stylish photos...

  10. This wouldn't usually be my style but I really love these images. They are really well balanced and beautiful! Michelle

  11. Janine,
I am floating away. Our backyard is SO boggy with the rain and all the water from the main! I need a dinghy!! Hope you are keeping dry too.

  12. Thanks A-M.It is too! I cant believe I forgot it was Steves.
    ...and Karna is great!
