Black Out...

country living
Hi! Well, the lockdown went well. Not as productive as I had hoped for, but I did get quite a bit done. Instead we spent the weekend indoors as the weather was shocking and while I was cleaning out my files I came across these images which I thought were too beautiful not to show.
I have always loved chalkboards in interiors and this shot above shows two of my favourite things - an Aga oven and a chalkboard.
Then there is this one. A whole wall! Imagine this in a cafe. I have always loved coffee shops and the like that have moody, warm colours and a chalky black wall is perfect.
I think this looks fabulous and our boys would love it also ;0)
Thinking back to when I painted our chalkboard in the kitchen, I don't know how we survived without it now. It is SO handy.
I will show you what I made on lockdown as soon as I have finished the photographing of them.
Have a great day,
Ness xx

  1. Nice black, very stylish. I would love a blackboard but am worried it will end up all white and grainy and messy. These images might inspire me to give it a go.

  2. Lovely - I have a giant chalkboard in my family room too, and like you I couldn't do without it now. It has everything from the childrens school/activity timetable, to shopping lists and lunch invites - I just wish my writing was a bit prettier! Can't wait to see the products of your lockdown - I'm sure it will be amazing! x

  3. Ive got a very small chalk board attached to my freezer door and love it...when we finally get the "one day house" there will definitely be a wall covered in chalk paint for sure...probably in every room..lol. Hope you are getting lots done during your lock down x

  4. Two great images! I love the self imposed lockdown...I need to do this in my office! Look forward to seeing the sewing complete...

  5. It's perfect - I love it! Thank you Ness for this inspiration!!!

    VINTAGE xx

  6. Love the last image Ness....The styling for this is spot on and reminds me of 'It's Complicated'. I think it's the brilliant way it's been set up, just like Merryl Streep's bakery (sigh).
    Take care

  7. Chalkboards are wonderful! I have an old door with a chalkboard painted in the center. It's leaning on a wall in my kitchen. My teenagers write on it as well as my young nieces and nephews...

  8. Love these chalkboards, want one for my kitchen!
